Complex Website Features & Functionality
We build websites that not only look great and are easy to use, but they do some seriously complicated stuff! See below for some of the custom features and functionality we’ve developed recently to streamline business processes for our clients.
We partnered with Melbourne Girls Grammar to develop a tailored online uniform shop, showcasing over 120 unique products with various size, colour, and style options. Custom integrations synced stock levels with their Synergetic education platform, enabling seamless stock management. A shop-by-look feature allowed users to select items from images, directing them to the relevant product pages. The shop also featured a shop-by-season function, easy browsing of summer and winter uniforms, and clear labelling of compulsory items. Our team successfully delivered an effective, user-friendly online solution for managing and purchasing school uniforms.
The Fairtrade Product Finder project entailed creating a React application, integrated with Fairtrade’s WordPress website, showcasing 3,500+ products from 200 brands and 300 categories. The finder displays results for Australia or New Zealand, enabling users to locate local stockists like Coles. A significant challenge involved integrating the application with Fairtrade’s global system, Connect, containing product, license, and commodity data. Our team accessed the Connect database, pulled data into the WordPress database, and displayed products via the API. Despite documentation hurdles, we delivered a comprehensive, user-friendly Fairtrade Product Finder that effectively highlights the organisation’s offerings.
The project aimed to visually and dynamically display MBB’s core services. Rather than a conventional list, we designed a unique visual representation combining their process and services, with each service appearing as a node resembling a timeline date. Clicking on a service node directs users to a detailed breakdown of that specific process phase. This innovative approach enhances user experience and effectively communicates MBB Consulting’s process in a memorable, interactive manner, distinguishing them from competitors.
The Gippsland Renewable Energy Zone (GREZ) Interactive Map enables AusNet to collect real-time feedback from locals near the project. The dynamic map exhibits proposed power infrastructure, permitting users to pinpoint areas of interest or concern, such as housing, farmland, or biodiversity. The GREZ team can review, approve, or deny submitted pins, which are then displayed on the website and integrated with their CRM, Borealis. This ongoing project allows for adding new power lines and map layers, offering users a personalised experience with filterable and distinguishable elements.
The ADF Drug Mixing Calculator and Drug Duration Calculator are part of the Trade Facts initiative, aimed at educating construction industry tradies about the risks of mixing drugs and their impact on performance and safety. The website features user-friendly calculators providing clear information. The Drug Mixing Calculator displays risk levels and side effects for selected substances, while the Drug Duration Calculator reveals how long substances remain in users’ systems and potential worksite impacts. The Trade Facts team can add drug descriptions, which are integrated into the calculators. The website also offers support links, generating significant traffic and helping numerous individuals.
The Urbis National City Leaders Survey was a thought leadership project for Australian senior executives, aiming to create a central marketing tool and set a benchmark for online presentations. The report featured interactive charts with toggles for switching cities and datasets, utilising JavaScript libraries for various chart types and prioritising animations and user experience. A proximity menu enhanced accessibility, while a lead magnet enabled PDF downloads, building Urbis’ prospect database. The project delivered a dynamic, engaging online platform for insights into future government and industry trends.
The Mondo Website Salesforce Integration streamlines lead generation, fostering new business opportunities. Mondo, a division of AusNet Services, manages Victoria’s energy grid. Their website offers various lead magnets, exchanging valuable content for prospective customers’ contact details.
We implemented a complex Salesforce integration, feeding data from nearly 100 site forms directly into Salesforce, collecting information such as name, email, phone, and company. Backend settings allow specifying marketing email subscription status, lead business unit, source, description, and other pertinent details. This seamless integration simplifies Mondo’s lead follow-up process and boosts new business potential.
This solution addressed the issue of parents being overwhelmed by numerous emails from different school departments. By dividing the content into hubs, parents can now access only the information relevant to each child. The same filtering system was implemented for the calendar, enabling users to view events based on their child’s year level. The calendar displays events in chronological order, with additional details such as time, date, location, and any extra relevant information. The International Grammar School Parents Lounge has significantly improved communication and access to information for parents and caregivers.
We partnered with the Alcohol and Drug Foundation (ADF) to develop a website for their Local Drug Action Team (LDAT) initiative, targeting harm reduction from alcohol and drugs in local communities. The user-friendly platform offers comprehensive training and resources for high-quality peer support programs, including three main modules: peer support, mentoring, and parenting. The website also features a resources hub for easy access to fact sheets, presentations, templates, and videos. This digital solution eliminates paper materials and enables real-time updates, making it an efficient tool for LDATs to provide vital training within their communities.
