Ballarat Clarendon College is an independent, co-educational, day and boarding school located in Ballarat, Victoria. The College’s focus is to maximise students’ competence, skills and capacity – allowing their students the greatest choice and opportunity at the end of their journey at the College. As the fifth oldest private school in Victoria, the College proudly celebrates their rich history in providing high-quality education.

With their previous website being 8 years old, looking tired and outdated, it was not an accurate reflection of the College’s innovative culture. To align with their core values of being passionate, daring and authentic, they briefed us with the task of creating a contemporary and unique website that stood out from the crowd.

Brief

Ballarat Clarendon College were seeking a partner to help them transform their digital presence to help them better appeal to prospective families, accurately reflecting their values and offering. With a strong, striking brand that was specific to Clarendon and reflective of the College, the brief called for a website full of colour and life. A clear and simple career application process was also required for the new site, as well as clear direct communication to their two key user groups: prospective families and the existing community.

Goals

The new website needed to reflect their innovative culture with a slick user experience. The redeveloped site also needed to help draw in employment applications and align with their current distinctive brand. We worked with Ballarat Clarendon College to create two homepages, one for prospective families, and one for existing families. This allowed the College to have two dedicated landing pages to deliver relevant information straight to the user. A self-selection dropdown was added to the homepage hero section to allow users to navigate to the two pages. We focused on highlighting the programs and curriculum on the site with a feature landing page directed at new families. A custom, automated tour booking system was also created for new families to sign up to tour the school.
